The sheriff says he's launched an investigation of the deputy who decided to show off in his patrol car over the weekend.

Laney defeated New Bern. Laney also won the girls game. Unfortunately, the UNCW men's basketball team did not have similar results. Buzz Peterson's squad suffered their second home loss of the season. James Madison beat UNCW 63-56 at Trask Coliseum.

Last week, WWAY broke the story of Joshua Ward, who was badly beaten in the Bladen county jail. Former jailer Marcus Hubbard told us that kind of violence is nothing new at the Bladen county jail. He said his complaints would often times fall on deaf ears.
