The federal government is giving some much needed money to Carolina Beach for the inlet dredging project.
Thursday the US House, Energy and Water appropriations committee granted $1.2 million for Carolina Beach inlet dredging. It's enough to cover the full cost of the project.

On July 6 the New Hanover County Health Department told Portside Finer on Burnett Boulevard in Wilmington it will suspend the restaurant's permit in 30 days for "failure to provide and maintain adequate refrigeration for potentially hazardous foods required to be kept at or below 45-degrees."
