The development team surrounding Brunswick Forest is a refreshing mix of Wilmington, NC natives and the resources of Lord Baltimore Capital Corporation, a nearly two billion dollar private investment organization that traces its roots to one of the country's founding oil companies. Matt Long, president and chief investment officer of Lord Baltimore Capital Management is a native of Wilmington, NC and holds degrees from North Carolina State University and Duke University. While Long went on to a successful career with major trading houses in New York and London before joining Lord Baltimore, his North Carolina roots run deep. In his capacity at LBCM, Long is responsible for asset allocation, investment selection and risk management for Lord Baltimore Capital Corporation. Jeff Earp, president of Brunswick Forest LLC, was Long's NC State college roommate. Earp is responsible for directing the on-site development, operating, and marketing team for Brunswick Forest. A native of Winnabow, NC, Jeff and his greater family have been residents of Brunswick County for over 100 years, maintaining and operating Funston Farms for virtually that entire period. He has spent his career in farming, land management, and real estate development. Together the two boyhood friends and top executives bring a mix of deep care and affection for the environment and the Wilmington area which translates into a highly sensitive master plan at Brunswick Forest. "Coastal by Nature" is a tagline for the community that was born not by accident but by a very real personal connection with the Cape Fear Coast. Both Long and Earp are supported in their development activities by Alan Kerry, who serves as president of Lord Baltimore Properties and is responsible for all areas of real estate development. Kerry has worked with LBCC and its predecessor company for 23 years. Prior to joining the LBCC group, Alan worked in the real estate development group of Alcoa in Florida and California and is a graduate of Penn State University.
