video It's been nearly a year since a former North Brunswick High School band director was accused of sexting a student. Today Mark Riel pleaded guilty. WWAY was the only media outlet in the courtroom as Riel entered his plea.

Warren kicks Social Services Board member out of meeting twice

video The Brunswick County Social Services Board meeting today got out of hand with two people getting kicked out and even threatened to be arrested. Board member Pat Sykes says she was just speaking up for what she believes was right when she was told to leave.

Reward offered in search for Southport bank robber

Police in Southport are looking for a man who robbed a bank this afternoon. Southport Police Chief Jerry Dove says it happened about 1:55 p.m. at the First Citizens Bank at Howe and W. West Streets.

video Boiling Spring Lakes city leaders met behind closed doors today to discuss what they say were personnel matters. Concerned and angered residents showed up to see what might really happen. Many believe Mayor Richard White and some other city leaders do not have the citizens' best interest at heart.

video A woman is dead and two other people injured after a crash this morning near Shallotte. Highway Patrol says it happened around 8:30 a.m. on McMilly Road.

Leland settles claim from another police officer

video The Town of Leland settled yet another claim against the town from a Leland Police officer at Thursday night's special council meeting. The settlement says officer Kevin Foss will resign as an employee, the claim he filed will be dismissed and the records concerning the situation will be sealed.
