FIRST ON 3: East Columbus HS releasing early after water main break

East Columbus High School is sending students home early today because of a water main break. Principal Mark Bridgers says the school day will end at 1:30 p.m.

FIRST ON 3: Magistrate explains decision not to arrest Soles

The magistrate who issued a criminal summons for R.C. Soles yesterday says there was no reason to arrest the former senator, who was accused of beating a man. Magistrate Tucker Ward says it left to his discretion either to arrest Soles or to serve him with a criminal summons.

Duke, Progress want limits on NC's merger hearings

video As you saw ONLY ON 3 last night, in the last four months, hundreds of people in Columbus County, including some with violent charges, have been issued unsecured bonds. The judge responsible for the new bond policy spoke to WWAY this afternoon to defend the policy.
