There's no "pink slime" on the menu any more at school in Columbus County. The county's two school districts have stopped using beef from the USDA.

Whiteville native Chris Wilcox played in 28 games for the Boston Celtics this season. In fact he started four games, but Wilcox recently played his last game of the season. Wilcox will undergo heart surgery later this month to repair an enlarged aorta.

Former state Sen. R.C. Soles is listed in good condition at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. Soles underwent heart bypass surgery Friday, according to his Tabor City law firm.
