Last week state lawmakers passed legislation that would make it tougher for new landfills to be built in North Carolina. Many people are happy about the environmental benefits of the measure that now awaits Gov. Easley's signature to become law. But those benefits could eventually cost you more money.

A 16-year-old Castle Hayne boy is facing armed robbery charges after allegedly robbing three people at gunpoint. Investigators say the incidents happened Saturday night around 11 o'clock in downtown Wilmington.

The sewer repair project in the Bradley Creek section of New Hanover county resumed Monday.
The work had been suspended because of three spills in the area.
Crews caused the spills while trying to repair the pipe that runs through the Wrightsville Green community off of Greenville Loop Road. But repair crews have been cleared to resume pumping sewage through bypass lines while they insert a new liner into the old pipe.
