Cape Fear CC holds off Brunswick CC

video Brunswick CC has never defeated Cape Fear CC in volleyball before. The Dolphins came close on Wednesday, but the Sea Devils pulled it out at the Schwartz Center in downtown Wilmington. Both squads are loaded with home grown talent.

Pender approves debris collection sites

The Pender Board of Commissioners agreed Tuesday evening to establish vegetative debris collection sites for disposal of Hurricane Irene storm debris from private roads in the county.

Red flags fly at area beaches as Katia churns out at sea

Rep. Justice appointed to Joint Legislative Committee on Local Government

The Joint Legislative Committee's work is intended to deal with review of local (county and municipal) bond issues. Any bond over $1 million, for anything other than schools, will be reviewed by the JLC from a fiscal perspective to determine the viability of the bond proposal. Rep. Justice's prior service as a Pender County Commissioner is an important reason she was chosen to chair this committee.

Valuables stolen from Trask football players during game
