Investigators are looking into two men accused of sexual offense against a mentally handicapped boy in Pender County.
Sheriff's investigators say the 16-year-old boy visiting Hampstead for Easter was the victim of second-degree sexual offense.

Summer is in full swing, and that means it's busy season at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Hospital in Topsail Beach.
The facility is full of turtles in need of help. And one in particular just got some special attention. We told you yesterday about an injured sea turtle taken to Raleigh for surgery. Today, we stopped by the hospital to check on patient.

The drought across much of the country is threatening to drive up the price of a lot of the food we eat.
Here in the Cape Fear it's a double-edged sword for corn farmers.Demand is high for their product, but the heat is taking a toll on the crop as well.

We've reported before about problems at the Pender County Animal Shelter. Now shelter volunteers are unhappy with the facility's management, and they blame the sheriff's deputy now in charge. Lt. Keith Ramsey says he's just following protocol.
