Work to reverse the controversial "road diet" in Carolina Beach did not start as planned today.
The Department of Transportation says because of the weather over the weekend, the contractor who was supposed to do the reversal had to finish a different project today.

The Carolina Beach Town Council voted 4-1 Tuesday night in favor of reversing Lake Park Boulevard back to four lanes. With so many complaints and overwhelming opposition to the “road diet,” many are saying its about time that the road goes back to the way it was.

Carolina Beach town officials are at it again. The town's Road Diet Committee met to find quick fixes for their traffic congestion and safety concerns in the beach town. Now the town is asking for input from the North Carolina Department of Transportation to see what it thinks is the best way to go about making changes for Summer 2011.
