It's officially breast cancer awareness month, and today at the Wilmington Convention Center it was a sea of pink for New Hanover Regional Medical Center's Pink Ribbon Luncheon.

Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast Affiliate is excited to announce registration has opened for the 2014 Komen Wilmington Race for the Cure. The Race will be held in Wilmington’s historic downtown district on March 1, 2014, raising funds and awareness for breast cancer research and local breast cancer programs.

video Movie star Angelina Jolie's announcement she underwent a double mastectomy is making headlines. Experts says it is not uncommon for people to undergo a preventive double mastectomy, especially if they carry the BRCA gene like Jolie. People who carry the BRCA gene have an increased risk of getting breast and ovarian cancer.

Runners invade Downtown Wilmington

video Crowds of pink packed the streets of Downtown Wilmington Saturday morning for the Inaugural Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. The event kicked off with a 5k race and walk starting on 2nd Street near Market and continuing all through the streets of downtown.
