A Camp Lejeune Marine who received the Silver Star for his actions during a patrol that was supposed to photograph an Afghan town says he's accepting the award on behalf of the troops that don't come home.

Wilmington men among first black Marines honored with Congressional Gold Medal

Lejeune Marine charged with murder of 15-year-old girl

The Onslow County Sheriff's Office says a Camp Lejeune Marine was in court today accused of killing a 15-year-old girl. Pernell Devon Jones, 24, is charged with first degree murder of the teen Saturday night.

Wood turners donate walking canes to wounded warriors

A local group of wood turners is sharing their unique skill to reach out to wounded service men and women.The Wilmington Aea Woodturners Association is donating walking canes to injured service men and women at Fort Bragg. With two retired colonels in the group, they wanted to give back.

Lejeune Marine stabbed to death in DC; fellow Marine in custody

A Marine is dead and another Marine is in custody after a stabbing incident in Washington, DC, early Saturday morning. The victim has been identified as Philip Bushong, 23, who was based at Camp Lejeune.

River search suspended for missing Lejeune Marine

Crews have suspended their search for a Camp Lejeune Marine reported missing in the Cape Fear River. The Public Affair's Office at Camp Lejeune has confirmed he is Lance Cpl. John J. Pruitt of Fontana, CA. He is assigned to 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division.
