videoHappening this weekend is the annual JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes at Mayfaire in Wilmington. The event brings people from all over the area to raise awareness and money for research. This year you can walk a 1 mile or 5K route, enjoy a kids corner, live music and a lunch of BBQ and hot dogs.

video Why did the guy with a big globe walk across the country? To raise awareness for diabetes. During your commute this week, you may see Erik Bendl walking with his dog and a huge globe. He's been walking along US 17 in Brunswick county all day with no intention of stopping.
