A traveling Civil War exhibit is currently on display at the New Hanover County Library in downtown Wilmington. The exhibit features images of women, soldiers and freed men. It's a rare look at what life was like during that time.

Folks lined Water Street in downtown Wilmington this weekend for the annual Riverfest. The event, which started in 1979, drew thousands of people to the banks of the Cape Fear River beginning Friday and ending Sunday.

It’s going to cost you more to park in a certain area of downtown Wilmington. Today, New Hanover County Commissioners approved increasing the paid parking hours at the county owned parking deck on second street to 2 a.m. Thursday through Saturday. Currently parking is free after 7 p.m.

According to the city, crews will do prep work this week, but starting next Monday, major construction will begin in the area of North 3rd Street between Market and Princess Streets. This will include the intersection of 3rd and Market Streets.
