SURPRISE SQUAD gets a surprise of its own!

videoThe Surprise Squad has paid bills, bought some lunches and gotten some gas for people. So we decided to combine that all Tuesday. We went to Mr. Frosty's and GoGas in Leland, and then we crossed the bridge into Wilmington to pay some bills. That's when the Surprise Squad got a surprise of its own!

Belville not happy with push for Leland liquor sales

videoThere's a battle over booze brewing between two Brunswick County towns. A bill in a General Assembly committee, if passed, would let Leland residents decide if they want liquor stores in town. Their neighbors in Belville are not happy about it.

Fatal stabbing turned over to DA's office

There are still no charges against the girlfriend of a man who was stabbed to death Monday morning. The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office questioned the girlfriend and then turned the case over to the District Attorney's office.

A family is homeless after a fire demolished their house in Magnolia Greens. Brunswick County Fire Marshal Scott Garner said "It's destroyed. Everything."

videoPink Ribbon Day kicks off tomorrow in Leland with a day full of events aimed at raising funds for the American Cancer Society. You can enjoy food, dance performances, arts and crafts shopping and fun for the kids all while helping raise money for breast cancer care and research. The fun kicks off at 10 a.m. and runs until 4 in the afternoon at 117 Village Road behind the CVS.

ONLY ON 3: Leland residents want to put the brakes on town parking ordinance

videoYou won't find many cars parked on the street in Leland. The town requires you to obtain a permit days in advance or else you might find yourself with a $50 ticket. There are no markings informing drivers of the local law, that's why some folks are speaking out against this town ordinance.
