Trask defeated Wallace-Rose Hill by one point last week in boys basketball. On Monday the two teams squared off. Once again, it was close and we stuck around for the dramatic finish. North Brunswick has never lost to Wilmington Christian in either boys or girls basketball, but the Patriots certainly gave the Scorpions a run for their money on Monday. Full story...

It's going to be hard for the West Brunswick boys basketball team to win all of their games this season, but so far that's been the case for the Trojans. This includes a nail biter on Tuesday on the road against New Hanover. We had game action and post game reaction from Brogden Hall plus highlights from Hoggard-Laney and Wilmington Christian-Cape Fear Academy. Friday's Full Court Press on WWAY featured a basketball doubleheader at Brogden Hall between New Hanover and Ashley. It turned out to be a Wildcat type of night with New Hanover winning both the boys and the girls game. We unveiled the "Full Court Press Watch List" for the first time this season. A fair number of high school basketball teams opened the season on Tuesday night. We had game action involving Ashley, Cape Fear Academy and Wilmington Christian Academy. In fact Ashley boys head basketball coach Webster Guthrie picked up a win in his first game as the head coach of the Screaming Eagles.
