The fire on Point Harbor Road, just across the Isabel Holmes Bridge has been contained.
New Hanover County and Wilmington Fire Departments responded to the fire. According to New Hanover County spokesman Charles Smith, the cause of the fire was electrical.

It was an emotional and exciting day for the Wilmington Fire Department. They hosted a luncheon in the hopes to raise the money needed for a memorial at Empie Park. The memorial will be to honor the seven Wilmington Firefighters who lost their lives serving the community and the 343 firemen that died on September 11, 2001.
