Six months of bridge work, closures start tonight at Wrightsville Beach

The Wrightsville Beach drawbridge will limit traffic to and from the island for six months due to electrical and mechanical repairs. The first of the four-lane shutdowns starts tonight.

video It started out as an average Sunday night for a local couple taking a romantic walk on the beach. That's until the two saw a mysterious object washed ashore. What appeared at first to be a book turned out to be a dead woman's ashes.

NCDOT to close lanes on Wrightsville Beach bridge for repair work

The N.C. Department of Transportation will close some or all lanes of the Wrightsville Beach Drawbridge on U.S. 74/76 at various times between Monday, Oct. 1, and mid-March, 2013, for a bridge rehabilitation project.

Wrightsville Beach mayor supports off-shore wind energy

Wrightsville Beach Mayor David Cignotti says he supports the production of off-shore wind energy. The group Environment North Carolina is pushing to extend federal tax credits for wind projects set to expire at the end of the year.

WB aldermen approve new Jet Ski speed regulation, third taxi stand in CBD

Folks who ride Jet Skis in Wrightsville Beach are going to have to slow down. The Wrightsville Beach Board of Aldermen voted unanimously Thursday to approve enacting an ordinance for Jet Ski operators to drive with no wake 100 ft. on either side of the Banks Channel bridges.
