On Monday NC State introduced Wes Moore as the new leader of the pack for women's basketball. Moore replaces Kellie Harper. Former East Bladen Eagle football standout Desmond Bryant purchased a variety of sports equipment for the East Bladen football team. It was a tremendous college basketball game between two outstanding teams at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta. It resembled a classic heavyweight championship boxing match. In the end the Louisville Cardinals prevailed over the Michigan Wolverines. Full story...

On Sunday the Wilmington Sea Dawgs lost the 2013 basketball season opener at Blizzard Athletics, the new home of the Dawgs. Former New Hanover basketball standout Kadeem Allen made the Juco All-America team. On Sunday the UNCW baseball team held off Davidson. It was the 23rd win of the season for Mark Scalf's squad.
