video The Wilmington Hammerheads improved their record to 13-6-3 with a victory over the Los Angeles Blues on Friday night at Legion Stadium. It's the second win this season for Wilmington over LA.

Sharks outslug Swampdogs to even series

In a must win situation the Wilmington Sharks destroyed the Fayetteville Swampdogs on Friday to even the CPL playoff series at one game apiece. The deciding third game of the first round playoff series will be played Saturday night in Cumberland County.

Brunswick & Pender both claim Dixie titles

Two different teams from the Cape Fear region are celebrating a Dixie Youth World Series title. The Burgaw Ponytails won a softball championship. The Brunswick 14 year old baseball team won a baseball championship.

Sharks lose playoff game in extra innings

video The Wilmington Sharks hadn't played a playoff game since 2003. They hosted Fayetteville on Thursday night in game one of a best of three first round playoff affair at Buck Hardee Field.

Wilmington Tigers will host Fayetteville Saturday

The Wilmington Tigers will hold their home opener on Saturday at Legion Stadium in Wilmington. It'll be the first official football game on the new turf field at Legion Stadium.
