Hundreds jump start holiday shopping on Thanksgiving Day

videoFolks in Wilmington said forget that turkey dinner and instead chose to wait outside of the Best Buy on South College Road. The doors opened around 5:00 p.m. and people piled inside to get their hands on the latest and greatest electronics and goodies.

videoThe 5 k's were abundant this morning The YMCA held their 8th Annual Gallop for the Gravy event today.Event organizer Alex Mozingo says they had fewer people this year because of weather concerns, but races on Thanksgiving day have become a trend.

Rain doesn't stop the Street Turkeys of Wilmington

videoThe Street Turkeys of Wilmington have been at The Landing in Wrightsville Beach all day collecting food for the food banks that serve central and eastern North Carolina. Event coordinator Jai Isear says the rain did not stop the donations from coming in. He says the food from this donation serves four counties and they serve about 67,000 people that don't know where their next meal comes from.
