PLEASANT GROVE, Ala. (AP) - Alabama officials say they have raised the death toll from a deadly tornado outbreak to 131. That brings to 200 the number of people who have died in six states across the South.

Gov. Robert Bentley says as many as a million people are without power in Alabama.

There are also 32 deaths in Mississippi, 15 in Tennessee, 13 in Georgia, eight in Virginia and one in Kentucky.

The National Weather Service's Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., said it received 137 tornado reports around the regions into Wednesday night.

There's heavy damage in Tuscaloosa, Ala., from a massive tornado that barreled through the city late yesterday afternoon. At least 15 people were killed there. But officials at the University of Alabama say there doesn't appear to be significant damage on the campus.

Terrible day in the South!!

Prayers go out to everyone affected by this storm..this nation needs healing, most desperately..On CNN, they said that people died in their basement, thats how detrimental these storms were..GOD Bless Them All!

If you are religious: didn't

If you are religious: didn't "god" make this happen? Prayers are not what is needed. Donate money and time if possible. Wishful thinking has never rebuilt anyones house.

Wishful thinking...

Wishful thinking doesn't harm anyone either. Let people believe what they think is best. I take it you are in need of a little attention today?

No, GOD didn't make this happen!! But HE allowed it to happen to maybe open the eyes of foolish people like you!!!Read Revelations, and you might understand whats going on.

You're right. As James says

You're right. As James says in scripture, our faith must produce works. But I'm sure God would also appreciate us concerning our thoughts and prayers to those that we may not be able to reach in person. I would encourage those who are believers to not only pray, but to be the answer to your prayers by helping in whatever capacity you are able.

Wishful thinking...

You're right. "Wishful thinking has never rebuilt anyones house." It took a willful act by Jesus Christ to do more than to wish, but to sacrifice his life in order to repair, rebuild or redeem my relationship with God. God didn't cause this storm, death and destruction no more than he caused you to write such a bitter and insensitive statement. But I'm sure you are all about diversity and tolerance. Just not when it comes to something you don't understand. So in turn, you mock it. I'm praying that you donate money or time to the relief effort. But if you can't, then you are left with nothing. I however, if not able to donate either, am left with the faith that I pray to a living God who hears my prayers and that they do not go unanswered.

No

No, God didn't MAKE this happen. God loves us and grieves with us in our pain when bad things happen, but He doesn't cause them. Bad things happen due to evil forces which are at work in the world due to man's original sin in the garden of Eden. You may know this evil force as "the Devil" or "Satan". He is the evil force, not God.

Donate time and money to these people, yes, but they could also use earnest prayers for comfort and strength. Money can't buy that.

Wishful thinking? I think everyone who has ever owned a home, it has started with wishful thinking. The world would be a pretty empty place without it.

Prayers go out to you as well!

No, GOD didnt make this happen..this has the devil's hands all over it..instead of listening and writing the devil's words, you need to come to Jesus and stop with the blasphemy! Prayers STILL going out to the tornado victims..the longer the aethists and non believers continue to grow and influence thinking of people, the devil will have a much stronger hold on this world where he can create these natural disasters..This is the time for us to come together!
