BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) -- It was back to court once again today for Brunswick County's "Teen Mom 2."
Friday was day two of court for Jenelle Evans this week. Her attorney says the case was continued until next Friday because the witness didn't show up.
"This is by an individual who used to be one of her friends and pressed charges on her, and she hasn't show up to court yet," attorney Dustin Sullivan said.
After pressing charges against the reality star for breaking and entering, injury to real property, harassing phone calls and second degree trespass, Jenelle's former friend Jaelanie Salas has yet to make her way to court. Sullivan says this is the second time the case has been continued because Salas did not show. Sullivan says he doubts Salas will ever come, which is what he's hoping for.
"If Jenelle didn't show up or a state's witness doesn't show up, it's always a factor in the case," he said. "And that's what I'm relying on for next Friday is that she doesn't show up once again."
Sullivan says everyone wants a piece of the MTV reality show star, which is why he says so many people keep coming out of the woodwork.
"I think right now she's got a target on her back, and everybody and anybody is looking for a reason to come up with a way to get her in trouble," Sullivan said.
Sullivan says he does not think Jenelle is getting any special treatment. He says he thinks her fame may be working against her.
"At this point in time, I don't think she's getting off easy," he said. "I think it's very difficult right now for her situation."
Sullivan says next Friday Jenelle will not only be the defendant, but she will also be the plaintiff. Jenelle pressed charges against Salas back in February for harassing phone calls. Sullivan says he hopes to have the case taken care of next week.
