Voting gets underway as absentee ballots hit the mail

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- While Election Day may still be a few weeks off, voting is about to get underway in North Carolina's municipal elections.

Absentee ballots started going out in the mail today. You have until November 1 to request a ballot by mail.

If you want to vote early, One-Stop Voting starts October 20 and runs through November 5.

Election Day is November 8. No matter how or when you vote, you have to be registered at your current address by october 14 at 5 p.m.

The articles on absentee ballots don't say how to do it. That would be very useful information.
