WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- As we first told you last week, a petition is circulating around Wilmington against using tax money to build a ballpark. Organizers say they are not against the stadium in general; just the taxpayers footing the bill.
The group will hold a rally tomorrow to gain support.
Josh fulton is one of the organizers of the petition and rally. He says he hopes people will come to the event so the petition will gain momentum.
"We're hoping to have as many people who come to sign our petition," Fulton said. "We only need 2,900 signatures for this thing to either get put in front of City Council or go to a public vote."
Fulton says if they don't get all the signatures at the event, they plan to go door to door.
They have changed the wording of the petition to include only the stadium and not other funding for entertainment projects.
The rally is tomorrow from noon to 2 p.m. outside the Convention Center.

It is apparent that Mayor Saffo is completely out of touch with the wishes of the people.
Round Up The Usual Suspects
What a rabble of myopic losers.
I hope the Council discounts the uniformed Luddites tomorrow and in the future.
Why have a battle of wits with a bunch of unarmed persons?
