BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- Matthew Lee Baber was sentenced Monday to life in prison without parole after a jury found him guilty of killing James Murdock in a 2008 drive-by shooting.

A Brunswick County jury found Baber guilty of first-degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle.

Baber was accused of shooting more than two dozen bullets into a minivan in Calabash. One bullet hit Murdock in the lower back, severing an artery, causing him to bleed to death.
