ALE busts hundreds during Azalea Festival

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Alcohol Law Enforcement arrested or cited 261 people during the Azalea Festival over the weekend.

Agents filed a total of 308 charges. That included 107 charges of underage possession of alcohol, 15 charges of using a fake ID and 15 charges of possession of marijuana.

ALE turned over five DWI cases to the Highway Patrol.

Also, two businesses were cited for alcohol incidents involving minors.

Criminal haven

Cancel the Azalea fest immediately!!! Agents have been called in and hundreds of citations and criminal charges have been filed for this City sponsored event to attract criminals and violators. Ale agent = no friends.

No other city. No other states have ALE people busting this kind of petty stuff in crowds of visitors for festivals. This elicit undercover activity has been going on since back at the original beach music festival 30 years ago. Very bad for tourist cities and beaches.

They have to justify their

They have to justify their existense and show their supervisor on Monday mornings how many arrests they made. It is the most useless law enforcement job around.

I need a job

and ALE sounds like the group for me. I may have a list of stereotypical groups that I personally don't really like for whatever reason and currently I would probably get in trouble if I were to go screw around with them. With ALE I would get paid.
