WILMINGTON, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) -- Amtrak may have found a loading point in Wilmington for its buses.

The city of Wilmington has given Amtrak permission to use a downtown intersection for a bus stop after Wave Transit rebuffed a request from Amtrak to use Forden Station.

Amtrak is exploring expanding its Thruway bus service to eastern North Carolina. The buses would connect the area to Amtrak's national passenger rail system.

Yes

There is free parking at the Wilson station but it will be a good thing to offer transportation to the station. Wilmington is missing out by a lack of connection to rail service. I'm glad to see this.

Would be nice to have Amtrak going thru Brunswick County!

I hope Amtrak's national passenger rail system thru Brunswick County and Myrtle Beach, SC and Jacksonville, NC, too! So we could have reliable transportation for jobs, travels, vacation tours. I admit I am getting tired to drive to Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC and spend too much on gas, too!

Awesome
