UPDATE: CFPUA crews fix water main break at 100 block of Market Street


UPDATED NEWS RELEASE (4:35 P.M.) -- A CFPUA construction crew has made necessary repairs to a broken water main and are in the finishing stages of road repairs in the 100 block of Market St.

They expect to be completed and have the eastbound lane of Market St. reopened by 5:00 p.m.

The precautionary boil water advisory delivered to affected customers in the area remains in effect until water quality testing has occurred and service is returned to normal.

Customers will be notified when testing is completed, typically within 24 hours, and service is returned to normal.


WILMINGTON, NC (NEWS RELEASE) -- CFPUA crews are responding to a water main break in the 100 block of Market Street.

In order to establish a work zone and isolate the valve, the east bound lane of Market St. will be closed to all traffic.

A precautionary boil water advisory has been issued and hand delivered to affected customers. It is now known at this time how long lane closure will be in place.
