Woman arrested for buying heroin, has child taken away

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Wilmington Police arrested a woman last night after finding her child with two aggressive pit bulls and drugs in her car.

Police saw 24-year-old Jessica Davenport dropping off a suspected drug dealer. Officers followed Davenport and pulled her over for a traffic infraction.

She confessed to buying heroin from the dealer. Officers called social services for the child and animal control took the dogs.

Get the Heroin dealers off the street,point blank.My heart goes out to the people that have been snared by this ugly drug. Ive seen what it does to people. The dealers just keep on and on killing lives, time for it to stop. Thank you Wilmington PD for catching these bastards. Keep up the good work!!!!!
