Check of suspicious car leads to heroin bust

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A check of a suspicious car led Wilmington Police to arrest an alleged heroin dealer early this morning.

At 2:47 a.m. officers responded to a suspicious vehicle in front of 4619 McClelland Dr. with several men and a woman inside. Officers noticed a small bag with a white powder under the passenger seat. When they asked Antonio Nathan Greene what was in the bag, he took off running.

While chasing Greene, officers saw him throw several items on the ground that they later identified as bindles of heroin.

Officers caught Greene, 32, and charged him with two counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver heroin and resisting arrest. He was booked into jail under a $10,000 secure bond.

Court records show Greene was charged last year in New Hanover County with driving while license revoked. The Department of Corrections website shows Greene has a criminal history that includes several convictions on drug charges, possession of stolen goods, larceny, breaking and entering and other offenses.

I know this guy... he's a non-violent offender. He was always trying to make extra money on the side with drugs. I don't see anything wrong with trying to make some scratch through dubious means. It's not like he was pushing the stuff, the stuff pushes itself.

And this degenerate will be out AGAIN in no time dealing drugs and committing crimes... because he knows a slap on the wrist is all he'll ever get! And this, my friends is why they do it. Because they can.

Yet he's on the street selling his "wares".

The last time he was arrested if I remember he took them in a highspeed chase, found all the same stuff and did no time.
I guess he told on his friends to get that deal.
