BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (StarNewsOnline.com) -- "Teen Mom 2" star Jenelle Evans will likely be indicted on heroin possession charges before her next court date in July, her attorney said Tuesday.
Evans, 21, appeared briefly in Brunswick County District Court on charges of possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and simple possession in connection with her arrest April 23 in Caswell Beach. Her defense attorney, Dustin Sullivan, said another court date in July is an administrative setting, which just keeps her name on the calendar. He said he expects she'll be indicted by a grand jury prior to that court date and the felony charges will be handled in Superior Court.
According to the arrest warrant, police found Evans and her husband, Courtland Rogers, in possession of 12 bindles of heroin along with drug paraphernalia and prescription painkillers for which she didn't appear to have a prescription on April 23 following a domestic dispute.
