Still no sign of missing swimmer in Holden Beach

READ MORE:

HOLDEN BEACH, NC (WWAY) -- Crews spent a second full day searching for the missing swimmer who disappeared Tuesday evening near Holden Beach.

Holden Beach Police Chief Wally Layne said he is cautiously optimistic they'll have something by Saturday.

Chief Layne said the Holden Beach Police, Tri Beach Fire and the Brunswick County Sheriff's office are combing Lockwood Folly Inlet for Sample. Crews are also searching by air to spot Sample's body.

Chief Layne says the surf has been rough the past couple days making the search more difficult.

Sample was here from Ohio as part of the Xenos Christian Fellowship. Church members said they are hopeful, because they know Sample is in Heaven.

Chief Layne said they are doing everything possible to recover Sample's body to get closure for his family.

Hopefully his tragic death

Hopefully his tragic death is not in vain and this is a lesson learned by all who ponder those unpredictable currents!!! Welcome home! God now has another angel in his kingdom! So sorry for his family and friends, but please know the Holden Beach community is heart broken over this and prayers are with you!

His body was found today

His body was found today 5/19/13 @ 7am thanks for all prayers to help raise him up. At least his body now can go home to be laid to rest. Please keep praying for family and the friends who were with him at that horrible moment. And to all his friends from church group who knew and loved him. I am a Father of three children who were good with friends with him at church group and at Holden Beach. Although I never met him this loss hurts very deep. I will remember him and think of him for the rest of my life.until the day I get to meet him in heaven.

kwesi is my church group

kwesi is my church group leader he is like a big brother to me he taught me things that i would not think i would even know and i feel like y'all are not really searching the waters how y'all say y'all are. did yall check everywhere like by myrtle beach or in the ocean. I wish yall would really find him for us.

rag with shrimp boats.

He could be stuck in the mud. or cought up in a tumbling current. You know water from the river is allways comeing in. and so is the ocean at the same time. This can cause the current to run in two diffrent directions at the very same time. Get he shrimp boats to do a sweep. Its way to merky for divers to do any good. Then coam all the slews. Im sure he will pop up sooner or later. Good luck hope you find him. ive lived here for over 43 years and you will never catch me swimming in that spot. Some people are just to brave for their own good. Prayers being sent..

Prayers continue for Zenos, the Sample family

I'm so sorry for this tragedy. It's so uplifting to know that your faith hasn't been shaken. While we can never really know why this was in God's design, we have to hold faith that it is and that Kwesi was welcomed to Heaven with choirs singing. He's with family who went before him, and he's safe in God's arms. God bless you all.
