FIRST ON 3: Man charged with child sex crimes again

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY-TV) – A man accused of sex crimes involving a 10-year-old girl is back in jail tonight facing new charges of sexual misconduct with a child.

Nathaniel Ray Malpass is in jail on 2 counts of sexual offense with a child, 2 counts of indecent liberties with a child, 1 count of assault on a child under the age of 12, and 1 count of crimes against nature.

He’s being held in the New Hanover County Jail under a $1-million bond.

Malpass’s wife, Erica Malpass, was also arrested today, on charges of obstructing justice. Erica Malpass was previously the nanny for the child victims in this case.

Nathaniel Malpass had been out on bond after being charged with several crimes including 3 counts of first degree sexual offense on a child.

He is scheduled for court tomorrow.
