Thalian Association fires another artistic director
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — For the second time in less than two years, another artistic director is out of a job with Thalian Association Community Theatre.
David Loudermilk confirmed to WWAY that the Thalian Association terminated him without cause today.
Loudermilk said he took over as artistic director nearly two years ago. You might remember that came after the Thalian Association eliminated both Tom Briggs and Jason Aycock’s positions to create only one sparking controversy within the theater community.
Loudermilk said he wants to thank all the performers for the love and support they’ve shown him during the 25 shows he produced in 23 months as the Thalian Association’s artistic director.
WWAY reached out via email to Susan Habas, the executive director of Thalian Association Community Theatre.
“Even when intentions on all sides are good, professional differences can arise in a busy non-profit that does so much with few resources,” Habas wrote. “We believe we have produced some great work together, and have determined that it is time for us to part ways. We wish him well.”
