WPD responding to crash involving pedestrian

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Police are on scene for a crash involving a vehicle and a person.

According to a tweet from WPD, the incident happened on McRae Street between Fanning and Campbell streets before 3 p.m. WPD spokeswoman Linda Rawley said a person was possibly sitting in the street when hit by a car. The man was transported to New Hanover Regional Medical Center, but his condition was not known.

Rawley said at this point no charges have been filed, but investigators are still on scene.

This is the third crash involving a pedestrian this month for investigators at Wilmington Police Department.
