Services set for Topsail High teen killed in hit & run

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Services have been set for a Pender County teenager killed in a hit and run last week.

Tomas Green, of Hampstead, was a junior at Topsail High School. Green was riding a foot scooter on Highway 17 near Sloop Point Road May 25 when a driver hit and killed him.

A GoFundMe was set up by a family friend to raise money to help with funeral expenses and to help with costs to transport Green back to their hometown in Indiana. As of early Tuesday, more than $10,000 has been raised.

Green’s funeral service is set for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg, Indiana, according to his obituary. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday. A reception will follow in Henryville, Indiana.

A Holly Ridge man has been arrested and charged in connection to the deadly hit and run. James Allen William, Jr. faces charges for felony hit and run and driving with a revoked license.
