Woman arrested in early morning shooting

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Wilmington police have arrested a woman accused of shooting a man in the neck.

Police say 26-year-old Deniece Shaquenna Cohens is charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill.

Around 3:40 a.m., police responded to a domestic violence call in the 800 block of 4th St. When they arrived, they found 39-year-old Demon Rashawn Johnson in the upstairs apartment. He had been shot in the neck.  EMS took him to the hospital, where he is in critical condition.
