Man dies in Castle Hayne house fire early Monday

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WWAY) — Firefighters are investigating after a man died in a house fire in Castle Hayne early Monday.

New Hanover County Fire Marshal Frank Meyer said the call came in around 3:45 a.m. at 1520 Rock Hill Road.

Meyer said investigators are not releasing the victim’s identity. He said the fire was put out by 6 a.m., but the home is a total loss.

New Hanover County Fire Rescue, the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office and the State Bureau of Investigation are all part of the investigation.

Meyer said SBI is involved in all fire fatality investigations.
