Whiteville police looking for man accused of stabbing woman

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) – Whiteville police are searching for James Edward McKamey.  He’s accused of stabbing a woman multiple times.

Police say on Monday around 5:30 p.m., they responded to a call of a woman being assaulted at 308 W. Nance St. They say when officers arrived and spoke to witnesses, they were told the man had run off while the woman drove off in a car.

Officers found the woman’s car at Columbus Regional Hospital, where the victim had driven after the attack.

Police say McKamey was identified as the suspect.  He’s charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
