Ashley High School JROTC instructor suspended over Facebook comment

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) – Ashley’s High School’s Lead JROTC instructor has been suspended with pay.
Yesterday, screenshots of a Facebook comment allegedly made by Chief Thomas Frost began circulating over social media. The comment appeared on a Facebook post about the recent shooting in Creekwood and witnesses on the scene being uncooperative. The comment made by Thomas Frost’s profile read, “Do they truly matter?”
The screenshot of the comment was shared hundreds of times.

On September 3, four people were shot in the middle of the afternoon in Creekwood.  One of the victims died on Saturday.
New Hanover County Schools Spokeswoman Valita Quattlebaum wrote in an email that Frost has been suspended immediately with pay pending an investigation by the New Hanover County Schools Human Resources Division.
 A number for Frost couldn’t immediately be found for comment.
