Meeting planned to discuss Beasley Road closure
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The City of Wilmington will hold a meeting next week to talk with resident who will be affected by the months-long closure of Beasley Road.
The city says a $4 million drainage improvement project will close Beasley Road for six months.
The drop-in session will be held from 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m. at the Masonboro Fire Station at 3335 Masonboro Loop Road.
Anyone who would like to learn more is encouraged to drop by to talk with engineers and drainage experts about the project.
During construction, the aging bridge on Beasley Road will be replaced with a modern concrete structure and the span of the bridge will increase from 15 feet to 50 feet to allow for improved drainage.
Beasley Road will be closed to all traffic between Wilton Court and Chelon Avenue while work is underway.
Construction is expected to begin in November and take approximately six months to complete.
