Man arrested in Bolivia shooting

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Bolivia man is in jail accused of shooting a man.

Rashen Georgell Bellamy, 25, is charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

According to reports, the 911 call came in just before 4:00 p.m. on March 6 regarding a shooting on Piney Grove Road NE in Bolivia. The 39-year-old male victim was shot in the hip area and taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Bellamy is in the Brunswick County Detention Center under a $150,000 bond.
