Letter sent to Holly Tree parents confirms death of missing woman
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A letter sent home to parents at Holly Tree Elementary School today confirms the death of one of two missing Wilmington women.
Tiffany Cartwright worked as a custodian at the school.
The letter says the school is deeply saddened by the death of a custodian and tells parents a crisis response team will be available.
Assistant Superintendent Rick Holliday confirms the letter is in reference to Cartwright.
No word yet on Cartwright’s mother Eva Jones, who was also reported missing on Monday.
Two bodies were found Monday night in a burning shed in Columbus County, no word yet on if they are tied to the missing women, but a news conference is being held tomorrow with more details.
There is a GoFundMe account already set up for both the women.
The GoFundMe says family has received word that both women have died and that the money raised will go to Cartwright’s sister for arrangements.
WWAY will have more details as they become available.
