Wilmington Police investigate overnight shooting


WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Police are trying to figure out who shot someone early Sunday morning and why.

WPD spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay says police got a 911 call around 2:10 a.m. about a shooting at the Wilmington Sportsman Club at 1111 Castle Street. Lindsay says someone took the victim to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in a private vehicle. She says the victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not yet released any more information about the victim, a suspect or a motive.
