Greenfield Grind Skate Park is hosting a beginner’s clinic for new skateboarders at Greenfield Park in Wilmington.
The clinic gives kids a chance to hop on a board and get one on one instruction from skateboard pros.

The city of Southport kicked off its Fourth of July Festival Saturday with its annual Freedom Run.
Dozens of joggers participated in the 5K and 1K races that circled historic Southport along the Cape Fear waterfront.

There is some fallout from the First Bank's purchase of Cooperative Bank. Lumina Mortgage closed it's doors Friday.
