video It was supposed to be a chance for New Hanover County Commissioners and School Board members to try and get on the same page about the school district's budget. Instead, a Friday morning meeting may show the continued problems among the County Commission.

video It's going to be a very long three-and-a-half-year term if you keep this up, Mr. Berger. You're quickly losing any credibility you may have had as an outsider wanting to initiate reform. May we suggest showing some respect for your constituents? Buy an alarm clock, use it, and try to be on time from now on. If not, please step aside and let someone more professional, more capable and more punctual do the job!

NC ABC revokes, denies Club 609 permits after murder; cites ties to slain gang leader

video The North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission has revoked temporary alcohol permits for Club 609, the site of a fatal shooting and a stabbing early Sunday morning.

Ashley and Hoggard notch round one wins

video The Hoggard baseball team won the Mideastern Conference, earning the one seed in the state playoffs. The Vikings hosted Cape Fear, a wild card out of the Mid-South Conference in round one. Ashley was the two seed, also earning a home game in round one.

video B.J. Wright is getting out of jail. A Columbus County bail bondsman has posted a $750,000 bond for the young man charged with a host of crimes, including vandalism at the home of former Sen. R.C. Soles.

Students hurt after bus overturns in Davidson county

Authorities say 22 high school and middle school students were hurt when the bus they were riding overturned on a Davidson County road. The Dispatch of Lexington reports that the bus was carrying students from Central Davidson Middle and High schools when it overturned around 3:30 p.m. Friday.
