Beach Water Quality Swimming Advisory issued for sound-side site in Brunswick County

An advisory against swimming was posted today at a sound-side site in Brunswick County, where state officials found bacteria levels in the water that exceed the state and Environmental Protection Agency's recreational water quality standards.

BB&T Jamboree set for August 12th

Football practice all across the state officially starts on Saturday for high school football teams. That means it's about to be jamboree time in New Hanover County. The BB&T Jamboree will kickoff in Wilmington on August 12th.

Despite rainfall, new numbers still show extreme drought

Rainfall over the past week has not done much to reverse the dry weather we've seen since Spring.
