Wrightsville Beach Police arrested the owner of the now closed Deluxe restaurant overnight. Scott Haulman is charged with carrying a concealed weapon, DWI, having an open bottle of alcohol in his car, driving on a revoked license and ... urinating in public, according to a police spokesperson.

Brunswick County Sheriff John Ingram has announced a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction for the murder of Linnie Mae Ward. The 86-year-old was found dead in her home in the Longwood Community Tuesday.

An N.C. Highway Patrol trooper is on administrative duty after the patrol cruiser he was driving hit and killed an 80-year-old Clinton man.
Patrol spokesman Sgt. Jeff Gordon said Trooper Emory T. Brown was driving north on N.C. 242 near Salemburg Tuesday night when his vehicle struck Ottis Parker as he crossed the road.
