Suspect connected to delivery driver murder back in jail

Marvin White was charged with armed robbery in connection with the murder of Chinese delivery driver Zehn Bo Liu in June. Now police say he's in trouble again.

Reduced Carolina Beach town council looking for replacements

video Mayor Pro Tem Steve Shuttleworth says Planning and Development Director Ed Parvin will act as the town manager for a few days as council looks for a more permanent replacement. The reduced Carolina Beach Town Council says they are looking for candidates to fill the three newly vacated leadership positions.

NC trooper's cruiser hits, kills 80-year-old man

An N.C. Highway Patrol trooper is on administrative duty after the patrol cruiser he was driving hit and killed an 80-year-old Clinton man. Patrol spokesman Sgt. Jeff Gordon said Trooper Emory T. Brown was driving north on N.C. 242 near Salemburg Tuesday night when his vehicle struck Ottis Parker as he crossed the road.

Closed section of NC 12 reopens to some traffic

N.C. 12 on Pea Island is open again to four-wheel-drive vehicles, but authorities warn that rapidly changing weather conditions could force them to close it again with little notice. State Department of Transportation engineer Jerry Jennings says high tides and strong winds could force another closure of the road.
